Hello, my name is Kenzie Helmink and I'm a secondary art teacher who is passionate about students, art, athletics, and more. I am in my fifth year teaching art at the secondary level. Last year I made the move from southeast Nebraska, to Fort Collins, CO where I now teach middle school art at Lesher Middle IB World School. At Lesher, I teach 250 students in an every other day block schedule with anywhere from 25-39 students in each class. In addition to teaching, I run an after school art club twice a week, and coach girls basketball, and jumps in track and field.

I spent three years teaching high school art at Crete High School in Crete, Nebraska where I built a solid art program and Visual Arts Club, coached several high school and middle school sports, lead a Marzano team for our school district's professional development, lead an action team of teachers, parents, and community members to improve school policies, and volunteered my time as a head coach for our school's Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter (FCA).

During college I participated as a member of the UNK track team for one year, and later joined the softball team for the remaining three years of my college career. Athletics played a vital role in who I am today and I love coaching all students. I am a firm believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and He plays the lead role in my life. I base my life, my actions, and my teaching/coaching around Him and I try every day to give all the glory to Him.
